McLaren uses Mercedes engines built in Brixworth, the British company began its association with Mercedes in 1995, which brought several world championships, the German automaker owned the 40 percent of the Woking team (McLaren).
In 2009, after the bought of Brawn by Mercedes, the british team expressed the need to become once again a private team: "The McLaren Group will become a fully independent entity" confirmed McLaren.
However, until last year, Mercedes still owned a small part of the team. But there are several reports, which reveals that Mercedes and McLaren are not in a shareholder relationship from the first day of 2012, confirming a "withdrawal" by Mercedes of the British team.
McLaren will continue to use the Mercedes V8 engine for free this year and next year, 2013, will have to pay for the services of Mercedes.
We are eager to know, with the introduction of the new six-cylinder (new rules), if the Woking team will elect to stay with Mercedes in 2014.
