Its arrival at the end of the day at the finishing line hardly went unnoticed! Indeed, it was on 3 wheels that Mercedes truck number 526 finished the 2nd stage! “We got a puncture 3 kilometres from the finish, but I thought we would be able to hang on until the end and change the wheel afterwards. Obviously, it wasn't a good idea!” smiles nevertheless Dutch driver Johan Elfrink, gazing at the half front end of his truck that is almost hanging completely hanging off.
This mishap has not soured his mood or diminished his optimism: “It's spectacular, but I think it looks worse than it actually is. We're going to wait for our assistance truck and repair it, because we've got the spare parts. It's probably going to take some time to fix, but I don't intend to spend the night here, especially since the bivouac is not fare away! In any case, I promise that you'll see us again tomorrow!”
