Lenovo PC sales beat dell


SAN FRANCISCO : The research firm Gartner reported that sales of personal computers (PCs) worldwide slowed down in the third quarter of this year.

Today the world community would prefer to purchase a smartphone (smart phone) or a tablet computer. "Consumer PC market continues to weaken," said Gartner principal analyst, Mikako Kitagawa, Wednesday (12/10).

Tablet computers and smartphones are expected to continue to take sales of PCs, particularly in the United States. "Tablets and smartphones took the middle level of the U.S. retail sector, and the estimated demand for these devices continue during the holiday season," he continued.

As a result, the number of personal computers which send the third quarter of this year only 91.8 million, or only up 3.2 percent from sales the same period last year.

"The popularity of non-PC devices, including media such as iPad tablets and smartphones, consumer spending took away from the PC," he continued.

Hewlett Packard (HP) continues to be the top computer maker. HP's sales grew strongly in the United States despite discussed
that the U.S. company was considering whether to do a spin off of the personal computer business.

However, China-based Lenovo gained strength due to rising sales by 25.2 percent. Lenovo managed to take second place from Dell.
