Webber: i want to win a race in 2011

Mark Webber says his goal remains to reach the first place of the podium at least once this season, and is upbeat on the title fight for next season, even challenging his mate Sebastian Vettel.
Last year Webber match Vettel pace, winning 4 times and staying in the fight for the title until the last race, but this year his efforts to at least tie the results of his partner, were frustrated and the German took a great point spread.
Webber says the victories have been close, but blamed the tire problems and bad starts.

"There is no doubt that this year has been only one driver who took all the victories," said Webber. "Seb (Vettel) did an spectacular job, and I've led only very little, nothing compare to last season."
"It would be great to win, it would be great to win before the season ends. If you have one win and four retirements is not so good, so we still need to focus on being consistent, but when the opportunity arises, ie when you have a good start and good first stint without problems then the chance to win a race is real"
"The starts are our main problem, bad starts makes the race ver cyomplicated by having to fight in the first stint. My starts were better last year, so im hoping to improve that before the end of the year "



"It's great to win and it's always rewarding to have a good race weekend knowing you have done a better job than everyone else, that feeling is why we are all running."
"The podiums are still good, the champagne is a nice celebration but it is not easy to be there at the podium, there is a difference between being first and being second."

He was asked if the season of 2010 was his last chance for the crown in Formula 1, and said he has much work ahead to reach Vettel but still remains optimistic to have opportunities in 2012.

"Last year was spectacular. Not every year you find yourself in the title fight" explains Webber. "Now I'm back in normal situation, but I hope to change next year. It's a bit disappointing what happened this year but this is how things are. Sebastian has managed to score many points very quickly. We know that achieving victory is important because you can score good points, and if you can manage to win consecutive you make too much psychological damage on your opponents'
"It's very likely that my last chance to win the title was in 2010, but you never know, we think positively about next year"
"We have some changes ahead, there are not big changes. Its Going to be pretty disappointing if the same thing that happened this year happens next season. So we are putting all our blood and tears to ensure that Seb doesn’t runaway again"
